CHILDREN from a school near Crewkerne may have been forgiven for drifting off in a couple of lessons this week as they arrived for lessons in their pyjamas.

With onesies, cosy tops and dressing gowns at the ready, pupils from West Chinnock Primary School were invited to attend school on Friday in their nightwear in the lead up to a day of Christmas excitement on Saturday.

Rachel Mitchell, business manager at West Chinnock, said: "We have had plenty of fun at the school this week. Pyjama day was held in aid of West Chinnock School's Festive Fun Day, which takes place on Saturday.

"The children also had to bring in something to put in our Christmas hampers which will be given away as raffle prizes, including chocolates and other festive treats.

"There will be lost of fun to be had at the fun day, there will be stalls, games, delicious food and a very special visitor!"

The fun day will be held at the primary school in the hall between 11am and 3pm.
