A SHERBORNE couple who renovated a tumbledown cottage have been honoured by the Sherborne and District Society.

Tim and Jo Hague received an award for their work on saving and improving Tisbury Cottage in Westbury.

Mr Hague said the renovation had attracted much interest, including from council officials, when a new type of screw piling was tried in the area for the first time to stabilise the building.

The couple were presented with a certificate at the Council for the Protection of Rural England (CPRE) group meeting in the Senior Citizens Lunch Club in Digby Road.
